Welcome to a new section of The Deep Dive Newsletter.
At the end of every month I’ll send out this short article with a recap of the articles/deep dives released during the month and a short section of what you can expect going forward. This last section sometimes will not be available because I don’t always exactly know what I will be working on during the following weeks.
June Content
In June, you received the following content in your inbox:
Palantir ($PLTR) deep dive (take me there!)
The month kicked off with the release of the deep dive I had been working on for 3 weeks. The company was chosen by my Twitter followers from 3 possible options. I will always post a poll on Twitter one or two days after releasing a deep dive with options for the next deep dive so make sure you don’t miss it.
The options available for this deep dive where Palantir ($PLTR), AutoDesk ($ADSK) and $ROKU
In the deep dive I covered pretty much everything there is to cover for Palantir and a couple of days ago I also disclosed I had started a small position in the company:
DocuSign’s Earnings Overview (take me there!)
More or less in the middle of the month I published an extensive article going over DocuSign’s 2022Q1 Earnings which were jaw-dropping. In this article I briefly go over what the company does and then dig directly into earnings.
If you don’t want to read it in full, let me just tell you what the conclusions were:
DocuSign is not a COVID play
The company is a leader with a long runway ahead
Teladoc’s competitive advantages (take me there!)
Last but not least, I released an article on Teladoc’s competitive advantages in the telehealth industry. If you go back 4/5 months you will remember that this company was all over Fintwit and then completely disappeared when price started to drop. Now that the stock is behaving “well”, Teladoc has magically appeared on Fintwit again!
I also want to include a tweet by my friend @floshow1979 that clearly illustrates the relationship between Fintwit and Teladoc during the past months:
This company is the perfect example of how sentiment follows price in the stock market. Don’t forget that what sentiment should follow is fundamentals!
I wrote this article to prove that company fundamentals are still strong and integration with Livongo ($LVGO) is showing positive signs although still far from done.
The launch of The Deep Dive Newsletter twitter account
I have recently launched a Twitter account specifically oriented to sharing content related to this newsletter. This way, searching for updates on Twitter about the newsletter is easier, it’s all in the same place!
What to expect in July
July is going to be quite a hectic month for me, both in the personal and professional side. On the personal side, I’m turning 26 in a couple of days and my age is now starting to resemble my expected holding period which is great news. On the professional side I have just started working on a new project (I am a consultant) so I don’t know if I will have more or less time to dedicate to the newsletter (hopefully more).
Now going into what’s important, this month you will have the following content delivered right into your inbox:
Unity ($U) Deep Dive
This week I announced that I will upload the Unity deep dive in 2 separate parts due to it’s extensive length. You can see the dates in the following tweet:
Article on Fiverr’s presentation in the BofA Conference
I have already published a thread with the key highlights of the conference:
This article will be a bit more extensive and it will cover almost all of the topics discussed during the conference by Fiverr’s CEO Micha Kaufman. This article should be out next week or the week after that so you will have it before mid-month.
Article on Fiverr ($FVRR) vs Upwork ($UPWK)
I will also start working (and hopefully finish) on an article about the differences between these two online freelancing companies. I think that many people don’t understand them fully which leads them to think that they do exactly the same.
While they do operate in the same industry, their business models are quite different and this article will try to outline the differences.
Another (still unknown) Deep Dive
I would love to know what company the next Deep Dive will be about but as I said before, Twitter followers are going to be the ones who decide.
I will probably launch the poll during the 8th of July, one day after publishing the second article on Unity. The poll will have a duration of 3 days and I will start researching as soon as it finishes.
The objective is to publish this Deep Dive by the end of the month but the truth is that I don’t know if I will have time to finish it. I will however keep you updated on its evolution.
Portfolio Monthly Review
I have been thinking for a couple of weeks already about the possibility of sharing portfolio monthly updates and I am still thinking about it so July might (or might not) be the first month when I start sharing these reviews.
If you would like to see these reviews, comment down below and like this post!
And now we come to the end of the first edition of the “Monthly Content Review”, I hope you enjoyed it and it was useful as a quick recap on what has been uploaded recently and what to expect going forward.
Remember that feedback is more than welcome!
Stay well!
